The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh
A zoo is a place of learning, of beauty, of interest, of curiosity. And it's also where the monkeys live. Our zoo here is part online diary, part spiritual notebook, and some gravy for the grandparents! Thanks for stopping by to peek into our world, even if you can only stay for a moment.

A while back, I posted this. And, it's true. I was born as a mother the day that Poodle was born. I guess when Tooter was born, my license was renewed. :-) But I thought about that yesterday. While I love the sentimentality of a day devoted to honoring our mothers, *my* mother's day is the birthday of my first child. The birthday of my second child is my MD reprised.
Not that Jmk has to worry about buying gifts on both days. lol.....
Speaking of that, awhile back, while I was in the midst of moving things around in our room and bathroom, I casually mentioned that I needed to find a small jewelry box to keep out on the bathroom counter. Something to help organize the jewelry that I wear on a continual basis. It was one of those offhand comments, because I knew that finding something that worked well and that fit my style was going to require shopping time that I did not have right now. Thus, I put it away in that part of my brain for "projects to take care of..... later".
Not only did he hear me, and process what I said, Jmk shopped for and found the perfect jewelry box! It holds just the right amount of items, the style of it is just perfect, and it organizes beautifully. He gave it to me for Mother's Day yesterday morning.
What a precious husband. It's stuff like that gets me all warm and fuzzy inside! Thank you honey!!!

This is the day that Moms get celebrated, and I really enjoyed having my sweet babies bring in their cards to me in bed this morning!
But, oh, I wouldn't be a Mommy without them. Without Jmk... well, I wouldn't have those precious kids. Without him, I wouldn't be able to do my job or stay sane. ;-) And, I was not a Mommy until the day Poodle was born. And it is only by God's blessings that I have any of them, Jmk or the kids! I am keenly aware of how much I have been given, and how utterly unworthy I am of any of them. Of any of my blessings. Of any of the mercy that God has shown me over my life.
