Conversation with Poodle

(as I'm putting peanut butter on some crackers for her snack)

P: "Look Mommy - is this too much?", as she holds up a finger with peanut butter on it.
M: Poodle, what did I tell you about putting your finger in the peanut butter jar?
P: "I don't know"
M: That is bad manners, and yucky, and you are not to do it.
P: "I know, Mommy".
M: If you do it again, you will get punished. Do you know what punished means?
P: "Tell me, Mommy".
M: It means to 'get in trouble'.
P: "Oh! I know 'get in trouble'!"

I realize that her last statement loses something in the typed version, so let me just translate for you. If she were able to elaborate her statement with adult fashion, she would have said "Oh! I know all about getting in trouble!"
